The Prof. Moses Schorr Foundation runs an educational centre for secular and religious Jewish studies and the largest Hebrew language school in Poland. Inspired by the teachings of rabbi Moses Schorr (1873-1941), we open our doors to all students eager to dive into Judaism and Jewish learning in a contemporary context respectful of tradition. Our programs aim to deepen the understanding of Jewish values irrespective of religious affiliation.
Many of our students have joined various Jewish organizations, while others have become more understanding of the State of Israel. The name of our patron, an accomplished educator and the last chief rabbi of Warsaw’s Great Synagogue, has become a signpost for the greatest of Jewish values: the quest for knowledge. Each month, hundreds of students greet each other, saying “let’s go to Schorr".
Created with the support of the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation in 2003, our Foundation receives funding from Poland’s Jewish communities, governmental institutions and private donors.
